The remainder of the plot line is spent fighting off the villain who wants her back and is searching for and attacking her psychically. Speaking of which, it was lovely to revisit the couples from previous books, and see them still holding strong, the women still teasing their mates and the men still unrepentant over their overprotective ways.

Instead of being hurt or mad, she goes downstairs and they have sex, and that scene was a little disappointing compared to the romance in her other novels. And when Elle fails to arrive, her disappearance strikes fear in the hearts of everyone who loves her. But we find out that he had been raping her and controlling her unmercifully, forcing her to perform sexual acts with not only him but random men, and she had to ask to use the bathroom and he monitored when she took baths and even went so far as to shave her private parts and whipped her to where she bled, and I was like what in the hell is this doing in a book?
But even as he fulfills the promise, they both have a long road ahead of them Which I guess I should have seen something like this coming, she had just had Hannah slashed in the previous one, why not make Elle suffer twice as bad?
In terms of just this book’s story, I felt like we hadn’t really seen to much of Elle before this book so we really only get to know post kidnapping Elle.

The Drake currengs never fails to creep me out. I returned this one. This happened in the last three of the series – Hannah, Jolie, and Elle.

The vurrents of Elle’s struggle to overcome her physical, emotional and psychic trauma, intermixed with Jackson’s personal history of the same type of experiences as a prisoner of war, were painfully powerful.
Sid shook his head. Having read the Ghost walker series and also some of the Drake Sister series, I thought I was in for a good read. Fans of the Drake series, readers who want an emotional yet dark read. That is not what I expected when I got to the seventh book. Hcristine recommendations and tag cloud.

Cherish is good word for this. Sure, she’d been there with him, sharing his mind as he’d been tortured as a prisoner of war, but until she went through pretty much the same torture, she didn’t understand him, not completely, not the way he needed to be understood.

I felt that the end was a little rushed. She had come to respect the man in spite of earlier suspicions and she was ready to go back to Dane Phelps, her boss, and write a very strongly worded report chrjstine the rumors concerning Stavros were wrong—except that his aura indicated danger and a strong penchant for violence. She took a moment to recover and then ran lightly across the roof to the other side of the house where Stavros was conducting his meeting. This book had both and they were in very graphic detail.
